Night of the Living Dead on VHS
11th-Oct-2008 06:00 pm
lolo

So as everyone knows Night of the Living Dead failed to maintain it's copyright and fell into public domain. Therefor any jackoff with a surplus of blank tapes can release and sell them without having to pay royalties. As a result there are literally dozens of releases out there. As a hobby i started trying to collect as many variants as i could, all with their own cover-art. So far i'm up to 9 but i'd really like it if any of you out there with covers i don't have could post some pix.

i know the feeling you mean.
next time i take down all of my VHS's to cut in the new ones and re-alphabetize them i'm really tempted to roll around a big pile of them.

What, no spines shot? But seriously, very very cool.

Yeah, Rochester is the Horror Capital of world. This is where the Thriller video was shot. This is where Robert Bloch wrote Psycho. This is where Bruce Campbell was born.
Obviously all of the above statements are false. Rochester is the pits. I can't find any sources of VHS here, so if you know any you should tip me off. Although Record Archive is pretty sweet for DVD's. Seriously though, i've only lived here a few years now, so if you know of any place i can get my hands on any VHS horror let me know.
Why did you move away, anyhow?

Record Archive is alive and well. They closed down one and moved the other down the road. It's got a bigger space now and more DVD's than ever. Still have a good deal of VHS really cheap but i've already picked through it for all the horror and i don't think they even take in VHS anymore because it seems like the selection never changes.
